Our family spent last week at the Chautauqua Institution in upstate New York. The theme of the week there was 'Sacred Spaces' and we were able to do a great many wonderful things, including attending a lecture given by documentary filmmaker Ken Burns. Also, this very spoiled mama spent many many hours working in the glorious, fully-loaded ceramics studios complete with salt and gas kilns~ pure bliss, I tell you! It was such a special opportunity for us to experience this wonderful place. It's hard to describe what it is like there exactly, but I found this quote to help:
