We're already off to a bangarang summer! We recently went for a visit with some old friends who were camping at Petticoat Junction in Pine Creek. They shared with us the secret of Beulahland, the coolest DCNR wildlife reserve, which is on top of a mountain in a very old orchard. I have rarely been to such a peaceful, secluded place.
Also, our strawberries have ripened in the garden and we have made some tasty jam to go with our bread. As Josie says, "Mommy! It's just like Francis!"
Lastly, over memorial day weekend our family drove to Po Valley State Park, which is where Benjamin and I had our very first date and where he proposed marriage to me two years later. How romantic, right? However, the kids were much more enthralled with crossing the creek than they were interested in hearing the finer points of this valuable family history. Kids these days.
