Josie turned three this past weekend. THE BABY is three. WOW. We celebrated a little early this year (explanation forthcoming) and we kept the (very insane) sibling tradition of decorating your own cupcakes for the big three. You should have seen the pink frosting on hers!
Also in honor of the magic number, Josie inherited the dollhouse her great-grandfather built in 1981. Jos has already logged some serious time deeply engrossed in play with the dollhouse, and subsequently she has created an imaginary friend named Alpha. Alpha is quite a character, let me tell you: she is currently mad at her father (don't know why), she knows what boy she wants to marry (and is sometimes a boy herself when she feels like it), and she does NOT like Scooby Doo (even though Josie herself, she is quick to note, is not afraid of any of those bad guys). Alpha and Josie, they make my heart dance.

"Three is a magic number,
Yes it is, it's a magic number.
Somewhere in the ancient, mystic trinity
You get three as a magic number.
The past and the present and the future.
Faith and Hope and Charity,
The heart and the brain and the body
Give you three as a magic number.
When it's three you can see
It's a magic number."
